Southside’s Emotional Wellness Program offers you the opportunity to learn a range of helpful skills to enhance your emotional well-being, in a warm and supportive group environment.
Led by two experienced Clinical Psychologists, group sessions encourage shared learning, discussion and practice of skills proven to help navigate our most challenging emotions and increase our experience of positive emotions.
The Emotional Wellness Program is based on Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). DBT is a well-regarded, evidence-based therapy, which increases understanding and skill in managing emotions and behaviour. DBT can be very helpful if you live with anxiety, depression and other emotional difficulties.
In our groups, clients learn to:
The groups offer a valuable addition to one-on-one therapy by teaching an extensive range of helpful skills, including mindfulness, cognitive and behavioural skills and strategies specifically for managing crises or overwhelming emotions.

The Emotional Wellness group program consists of in-person sessions held weekly over an eight-week period. A follow-up session is offered one month after the program to help reinforce and consolidate the skills learned.

Tuesdays, 6:00–8:00 PM
11 August – 29 September 2026 (8 weeks)

Tuesday, 27 October 2026, 6:00–8:00 PM
Fee:
The cost of the Emotion Wellness program is $160 per session.
A rebate of $68.30 is available per session for clients with a valid referral from their GP or psychiatrist.
Registration Information:
Please discuss referral with your clinician if you are interested in attending the group.
A $200 deposit will be required to ensure a place can be secured for the group.
