Janice Tang is a clinical psychologist with an Honours degree from the University of New South Wales and a Master’s degree from the University of Sydney. A member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA), Janice is known for her warm, collaborative approach and dedication to helping clients achieve meaningful change.
Janice works with clients of all ages, including children, adolescents, young adults, adults, parents, and families. She has extensive experience supporting neurodivergent individuals (ADHD and autism) and helping clients navigate emotional and relational challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, grief, and family dynamics. She also provides support for individuals managing chronic disabilities, somatic symptoms (e.g., headaches, chronic tension), and tics. Janice uses a strengths-based approach to celebrate neurodiversity and deliver personalised care that aligns with each client's goals and values.
Training and Specialised Expertise
Janice is experienced in using the following therapeutic programs and modalities to help clients achieve their goals:
• EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing): level 2 trained for adults, children, and adolescents.
• Internal Family Systems (IFS): Level 1 Practitioner.
• Certified PEERS Trainer: Certified facilitator for evidence-based social skills programs for children, adolescents, and young adults.
• Creative and Play Therapy: Incorporating expressive approaches to support therapeutic goals.
• Attachment-Based Family Therapy: Strengthening family relationships and promoting secure attachments.
• CBT, ACT, and DBT: Applying evidence-based therapies to address emotional and behavioural challenges.
Assessments and Services
Janice provides comprehensive psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults, including:
• Autism, ADHD, intellectual, and academic ability assessments.
• Comprehensive NDIS assessments and reports to support funding and planning.
• Therapy sessions are available in person and online for flexibility and convenience.
Alongside her clinical practice, Janice conducts doctoral research at the Child Behaviour Research Clinic. Her work on early mother-child interactions and the role of eye contact in autism spectrum and callous-unemotional traits informs her evidence-based approach to therapy. This commitment to advancing psychological research ensures her clinical approach remains informed, evidence-based, and attuned to the latest developments.
