Janice is a warm and compassionate therapist who values working collaboratively with her clients through their personal challenges. She is passionate about helping her clients develop understanding and insight to their difficulties and identify ways to improve their quality of life. For this purpose, she integrates and draws on a range of evidence-based modalities in her treatment, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), systemic family therapy, and psychodynamic, attachment-focused psychotherapy approaches.

Janice has a particular interest in working with children, adolescents, parents and families. She has experience working across community health and hospital settings, in both individual and group formats. Her experience includes clinical assessment and treatment of individuals experiencing depression, trauma, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, body-dysmorphic disorder, interpersonal/relationship difficulties, personality disorders, and other psychological difficulties. She has worked with war veterans, individuals struggling with addictions, and psychosis. Janice is empathetic to the needs of individuals and families from culturally and ethnically diverse backgrounds and takes care to individualise treatment to support the unique needs of her clients.

In addition to clinical practice, Janice completes her doctorate research at the Child Behaviour Research Clinic where she investigates the interactions between parent and child in the early years of life. Her research examines early markers of common developmental disorders such as child anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and personality traits. She also works at Liverpool Hospital where she evaluates and designs interventions for children and families in the South West Sydney Local Health District. She is involved in mapping the factors that impact on parent and child physical and mental wellbeing, with a focus on child weight and lifestyle behaviours.
